Pine64 to TV mode not supported - nizam27391 - 05-26-2016

Hi,

I got my Pine64 two days ago. Thanks to Pine64 team!

But I have trouble in setting up the OS in Pine64. I tried using RemixOS (both Phoenix and DD image) and also Android 5.

The write to SD card is working fine and successful. But when I connect Pine to my TV (Samsung LA27S71B), it says "Mode Not Supported". After hours of searching, people said its due to resolution problem. But how can I fix resolution problem if I cannot have it displayed? THis is working fine with my Raspberry Pi 3 (OpenElec).

Any idea how to fix this? I have no other monitor or TV around here.

I also did try to run it in virtualbox to boot from SD card. But it says no bootable medium found.

Can anyone help me with this please..

Thanks..

This monitoe only support 1080i or 720p according to TV manual. Most of the Pine A64 OS build display 1080p by default. On the Android built release, we will set the default mode to 720p. This release plan on next week.

Thanks very much tllim for your reply. Noted on that.

Can't wait for that. Will this be in RemixOS too?

Remix OS in general will follow their update two weeks after Android update, this due to Remix OS using the Android build.

Has there been any movement on this? I have only seen an update for the LCD screen but not an update to drop the default mode to 720p. Will the LCD version get us there?

Sorry that default 720p takes longer time to release than anticipate. Their is still one major issue that we need to resolve together with Allwinner before making this release. The LCD version cannot be use.

Thanks so much for your work.  I tried it and it seems to work great.  The image came up on my old TV right away.  Wired networking was great.  I am really pleased.  Thanks again for doing this!!

Hi tllim, I have noticed one problem with the files.  Previous 64Gb images were 63.3Gb (63,282,610,176), which worked fine on all the SD cards I have, but the new one is 64.5Gb (64,490,569,728) which is too big.  A normal 64Gb SD card is not that big.  Can you possibly remake the images a little under 64Gb?  It would be really helpful.  Thanks in advance for your help.
