Mobian builds - SwordfishII - 09-16-2020

A while back a kind gentleman posted the build recipes for Mobian.

For anyone else curious, it's here.

https://gitlab.com/rrico542/mobian-x-recipes/

I plan on doing a few builds sometime this month and after a bit of testing probably customize my own build.

I know a lot of people would like to try out plasma with Mobian so let me know, and once I build the image I would be happy to provide it for others.

Please note the base recipes are here: https://gitlab.com/mobian1/mobian-recipes
Since the repo you mention hasn't been updated in some time, you might want to rebase on mobian-recipes first.

I would love Plasma on Mobian. I use Mobian because I feel like it is the best mobile OS out there for the PinePhone right now. But at the same time there are a fair amount of things I don't like about Phosh but it also happens to be the most stable for Mobian so I use it.

No promises. But i figured if I get something usable others might be interested too.

I've just been trying out plasma on arch on the PineTab (pinephone should be basically the same) after following the (fairly quick and dirty)  steps another user posted here https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=11438&pid=77948#pid77948

You should be able to do something similar on mobian by using apt instead of pacman and checking the names of the packages against what Debian provides, It's a fairly minimal effort for a tryout.

Id love plasma mobian! But i have heard that getting the modem working and integrated is a lot more complicated
