MAC address change - user0258 - 09-14-2020

Hi all, I have a advanced question that might challenge some of you.

How would you go about changing the default wireless mac address? permanently .. not spoofing either!
why you ask? well why not Smile

I've no reason to try it but have you tried these? https://duckduckgo.com/?q=linux+%22change+mac+address%22+wireless&t=ffnt&ia=web

I know that in some cases it can be changed, in the old days there was a manufacturer prefix and a board number suffix, like with USB devices. They originally served more purpose than now. If you start scanning wifi signals you can see router brands and models.

yea, it is possible to change it in linux but its not for good as its only a software change

On a intel motherboard you have the read the bios  with a ROM reading tool, and extract a image, open that image and then change the mac address then re flash.

thats kinda what im looking to do on this machine.
