Keyboard issues? - hedlund - 09-08-2020

I received my Pinetab today and I'm looking forward to playing around with it. However, when connecting the keyboard it just flashes for a couple of cycles, and then seems completely dead. No backlight, and neither keys nor trackpad works. Am I missing something that I need to do to get it working, or is it simply DOA?

Oh "good" to see I'm not the only one having this issue! I was going to send an e-mail to Pine64 later today. Hope someone has a sollution. Sad

Double-check the connection. pogo pins are known to be not the most reliable connection method.

I had a similar situation (first it blinks, then it's gone) and noticed that it looks like magnets are too strong and lock tablet slightly on the wrong side of connection (too far from keyboard). It helped me to pay attention to the connection of pins when plugging the tablet to the keyboard.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. You may be unto something here, but I have tried, and tried, but can not get the keyboard working, no matter of careful I am with aligning the pogo pins. :/

Hmm, then another idea: try rebooting with keyboard plugged in / plugged out. There was something about it on the bundled quick-start guide.
