USB-C Power Delivery - cmicallef - 09-05-2020

Hello,

I just flashed 4 September 2020 nightly build onto my Braveheart.

USB-C PD (Power Delivery) doesn't seem to work any more with *my* charger. It used to work when I was using an older image (which also ran kernel image 5.6 not 5.7).

I don't have a second PD charger to test.

Can someone please confirm that their PD charger works on a recent nightly build? If it does, please let me know the date of the nightly build you used. Please also tell me what make/model of PD charger you used.

I'd like to check this with others before I investigate further the cause.

Thanks Smile

Glad you found the solution. When that happened to me I didn't find the answer until my phone had died so the only way to charge it was removing the SD card and charging it without Mobian in.

RE: USB-C Power Delivery - lot378 - 09-05-2020

Doesn't blacklisting ANX7688 disable video output over USB-C to HDMI?

It is currently not enabled in mobian anyway Smile

RE: USB-C Power Delivery - nazarii.kretovych - 09-16-2020

i'm not able to make PD type-c charging work with that kernel module and without it on recent versions of Mobian and Ubuntu Touch. Sad
I tried different PD chargers, PD type-c cables. No success.

Guys, are you sure PD charging works on your phones? what is the indication of it? how do you know PD works?

I've not been able to get PD charging to work either, but I got BC1.1 (7.5 W) charging to work using this tweak.

RE: USB-C Power Delivery - LinAdmin2 - 10-02-2020

I am not fully convinced that it is a good and safe idea to blacklist the anx7688 module.

@LinAdmin2 could you please give your reason/s why you do not think it is a good and/or safe idea?

The blacklist anx7688 has saved me so many times, but there's also another thing to watch out for (I'm sorry I can't remember who alerted me to this): That you should try disconnect your charger while rebooting. There has been times when that worked without me having to issue the blacklist anx7688.
