Help with battery! - marksibly - 09-02-2020

Hi,

My pinephone64 arrived today and it looks very, very cool but...I can't get the back off so I can get at the battery! I apparently need to do this to remove a piece of place over the contacts.

I found the little 'notch' on the corner, but can't work out what to do with it. I've tried pulling the front/back bits apart with my finger nail, pushing in with the tip of blunt knife (ala iphone 'pin' mechanism) but so far nothing except for some sore fingernails. I'm pretty sure I'll end up scratching the thing to death in the process of getting it open - it seems to be a talent of mine - but I just thought I'd check first to see if I'm missing something obvious.

Bye!
Mark

You only want to widen the gap a little to start with, the cover has flex, but it is easy to crack.
perhaps a butter knife, but then run a fingernail in the gap around the whole phone,
then it should be easy to remove.
You cannot remove the cover by simply lifting one corner !

It does get easier with practice, and the cover does stretch a little after removing it a few dozen times.

It worked, thanks a ton!

I'm still finding mine pretty hard to open after at least ten times. Since I haven't been carrying it around in the outside world yet, I've been able to resort to not having all of the little plastic latches clicked shut.
