Sensors on PineTab - jaysprout - 08-28-2020

I bought a Kindle a while back expecting to use some of my favorite apps and experiment with my own but it had almost none. Does the PineTab have:
  • Accelerometer
  • Magnetometer
  • Gyroscope
  • Rotation, tilt, orientation
  • motion
and so on?

I don't know more than you, but on pine64 wiki I found a link to postmarketos wiki, which mentions accelerometer. I assumed rotation, orientation, and gyroscope are part of accelerometer. There's some old discussion on reddit about rotation, which suggests that it's hardware available. Regarding motion - if you mean GPS - it's available as extra module.

All these magical meats come from the same animal! Big Grin Usually you have acceleration and gyroscopic measurements on the device, magnetometers are slightly rarer on such devices due to internal interference. Rotation, tilt, orientation and motion are all derived from the previous three.

Checking out the Wiki, it doesn't mention an IMU (inertial measurement unit): https://wiki.pine64.org/index.php/PineTab

From memory, I think I saw a video on the PineTab demonstrating the ability to detect orientation, so there is likely at least a gyroscope/acceleration.
