is xt9 smart input (swype) possible for text input? - HLing - 07-08-2020 I first experienced the Swype on the Nokia N9 (Harmattan). It was probably the only saving grace (in my own backward mind) that gets me to occasionally use a touch screen, as I really clung hard to physical keyboard for as long as I could, and still prefer to make notes on my Nokia E90 (Symbian). Is that input method possible on the Mobian Pine Phone? For that matter, is fine handwriting with a stylus possible? Would appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction. RE: is xt9 smart input (swype) possible for text input? - tophneal - 07-08-2020 Squeekboard does not have this implemented, though it has been submitted as a request/suggestion on their gitlab. There appear to be (or been) a handful of handwriting input apps, but most are old/gone from the web and rely on X. I might be wrong, but I think that Phosh uses Wayland. Someone with the right skills could port it over: https://github.com/sailfish-keyboard/presage http://openrepos.net/content/eber42/okboard http://youtube.com/watch?v=_HHNboAGOck RE: is xt9 smart input (swype) possible for text input? - HLing - 07-10-2020 Thank you all. I may have to bide my time and wait for it... |
