Low brightness (defect?) - brandhout - 06-19-2020

Hi !

The screen on my pinebook pro is very dim. I'm almost unable to use it in a normally lit office environment or outside in the shadow even at max brightness. Is it supposed to be that way or is this unusual ?

no, the PBP screen is known for being pretty bright. I assume you've already tried adjusting the backlight using the keyboard?

Is this occurring on batter, charger, or either? It could be that the max screen brightness is set very lower in the power management settings.

It is occurring on either. /sys/class/backlight/edp-backlight/brightness is the same as /sys/class/backlight/edp-backlight/max_brightness (4095) so it's probably a hardware issue then.

Open a support ticket through the main Pine site.
