Manjaro XFCE MPV Hardware Acceleration - p3pp3r - 06-15-2020

Anyone had any luck getting hardware acceleration to work in MPV on manjaro?

I've updated the config file to include the hardware acceleration option, but no dice.

It would be great to be able to playback smooth video since the RK3399 has a hardware video decoder.

Same problem (though I'm on i3 Manjaro) - I've been unable to use anything other than the x11 video output on mpv.

There are specialized instructions for debian/ubuntu here: https://github.com/ayufan-rock64/linux-build/blob/master/recipes/video-playback.md

Are there equivalent builds for arch/manjaro? Alternatively, are there instructions so we could build mpv ourselves, or do we need that specific patched kernel?

Multiple updates later and still no hardware acceleration for video. Maybe I'm missing something. I can't even play 480p video full screen without dropping lots of frames.
