Regarding the battery icon, this seems to be a KDE bug that's occasionally popping up. The issue's up and assigned on their bug tracker: #422111

Users also wrote a couple of quick fixes. Open up a terminal, and run the following:

Beware, this kernel effectively killed my Manjaro install. Basically the machine was having random freezes on this kernel, and it froze right in the middle of an update Sad and is unbootable now. Will have to reflash.

You could also chroot into it and rerun the update and downgrade the kernel, if you do not want to reflash the whole thing.
