Digitizer delaminating? - --- - 06-09-2020 I carefully removed the 'peel off mask'. The screen surface appears to be separating at the top and bottom. Not sure if this is another layer to be removed or the actual touch screen digitizer. https://www.flickr.com/photos/185472830@N03/49989184218/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/185472830@N03/49989184118/in/dateposted-public/ RE: Digitizer delaminating? - SpoofyKid - 06-09-2020 (06-09-2020, 05:18 PM)--- Wrote: I carefully removed the 'peel off mask'. I'm 99.99% sure that's just the "screen protector" they added at the factory. I've kept mine on. Up to you if you want to remove it. I'm sure it's not the digitizer. RE: Digitizer delaminating? - --- - 06-09-2020 I agree SpoofyKid. I would prefer to remove this layer if it is an option but I don't want to kill my new phone. Perhaps this layer is just a construction cosmetic compromise. I'm not about to make a '4 dead pixels' type of complaint if this is the case but having removed one protective layer I think it's reasonable to confirm that it can be done again. I don't think that the factory applies all of the screen protectors perfectly, and basically, they're just a piece of thin plastic - tho they do the job. Mine got quite scratchy after a couple of months, so I replaced it with a glass one (around $3) - the ones made for the iphone xs max fit pretty much perfectly.
