Nano sim to micro sim adapter not working - Qiangong2 - 06-09-2020

I received my pinephone today (yay!), everything was working fine, so I decided to try and place my sim in. Unfortunately, the opening to let the nano sim card fit in the micro sim card adapter is too small. Is there any solution to this that someone has figured out? I'd prefer not to shell out money for a sim card adapter kit if I don't have to.

I can't tell what's wrong from your description. Photos might help.

I am not aware of a   'sim card adapter' in a pine phone ?
unless you have one of your own ?

That said,  The sim card I transferred from my existing phone into my Pine phone was a nano sim.
While it is  'not a proper fit',   it does  'work'.  ( I do plan to put the correct size card in shortly )
I simply slid it into place against the right hand side of the sim card slot, and all the way into the holder.

 *  In my experience,  I have found the 'sim card adapters' cost more than a new sim card.
Best Buy,  until recently was selling AT&T sim cards for $5 US,    but is now charging $10 US
I found a brand new AT&T sim card, with punch-outs for all 3 sim card sizes,  for $2 US with free shipping on Ebay.

In other posts on this forum I have seen many mention other carriers that have cheap or free sim cards.

One post mentions Verizon charges the customer a $30 fee when the customer moves their sim card to a different phone. !
But,  no other carrier I am aware of does that.

              Hope that Helps ?

WHOOPS !
I see the newer Ubuntu phone DOES come with a nano to micro "Adapter"  I would 'guess' you lay that on a flat surface,
then press the nano sim into place inside of it.  (?)

Take a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=fdmME_shpAI.

In this video you can see that a sim card adapter is now included.

You can see that the nano sim doesn't actually fit in the adapter. The opening is too small. Any way to fix this?

Perhaps with a small Xacto/hobby knife ?  ?
It should be a snug/tight fit, card to adapter,  remove the least amount to make it fit.

(or just get a micro sim card)
