RE: PineTab Mobian - ashley123 - 10-04-2020

Hi,
I have been using Mobian on my pinetab and found it be a really nice experience but there is issue of the set process windows being to big and not being able to finish the process because the final button to finish is obscured by the top bar in landscape mode or off the screen in portrait mode. Other screens can be advanced with the enter key.
Is there anyway to get around this?

Thanks

I have booted the latest nightly build (5 Oct) and whenever I change the screen rotation in settings and press "Apply", it goes back to Landscape, which for me is actually portrait mode.

Is there a command line option to change rotation?

Replying to myself here. I discovered the rotation button in the top bar. That one works to change orientation, but not the one in system settings.

Does anybody know if there is a big performance difference running Mobian from an external card compared to running it from the eMMC internal memory?

I used a "Sandisk V30 U3 " SD card and there was no noticeable performance difference, IMHO.

Interesting. Not sure what I am using, but probably not the latest specs. It is a Sandisk, but not the fastest it seems.

Mobian is nice to use on the Pinetab and almost makes it a "real" PC in mini format. However, mine has been struggling to keep up with some of the apps. It gets very sluggish at times and I have also encountered a number of "freezes", forcing me to reboot. I thought maybe those things would work better running Mobian from the internal memory?

You should really try to set up a 2 or 4Gb swapfile on emmc. It helps a lot with freezes.

I have now taken the plunge and installed on the eMMC. I have set up zram, but the swap file is still only 1Gb. How do I change the swap and how do I ensure that zram is running?

I am trying to install the spotify-client, but this is what I get:

Code:
Bra:1 http://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye InRelease
Bra:2 http://repository.spotify.com stable InRelease
Bra:3 http://repo.mobian-project.org mobian InRelease
Läser paketlistor… Färdig
Bygger beroendeträd
Läser tillståndsinformation… Färdig
Alla paket är uppdaterade.
N: Skipping acquire of configured file 'non-free/binary-arm64/Packages' as repository 'http://repository.spotify.com stable InRelease' doesn't support architecture 'arm64'

Is there anothter way?
