I installed the XFCE version. The system hung repeatedly. The first two times during initial start-up, when resizing the sd card, than later on when the mouse was moved in the XFCE session. I think I tried the Miniroot version, too, that also hung. I tried different sd cards to make sure that was not an issue. I used etcher to install the image. I used to have a PC-based slackware router that I wanted to reimplement on the rock64. Unfortunatelly, I had to go with Armbian stretch at the end, because I could not use slackware, but I would like to go back to slackware if possible. How stable/reliable slackware on the rock64? Have you had good feedback? I'll try the next release. When will you have it? Thanks, Karl RE: slarm64 (unofficial slackware) Rock64 RK3328 (aarch64) - pineadmin - 07-08-2019 (07-08-2019, 01:50 PM)KarlF Wrote:(07-02-2019, 08:16 PM)pineadmin Wrote: Updated Slackware Aarch64 Miniroot (ROCK64-v3/v2 and ROCK64-v2) 20190623 on Wiki and PINE64 Installer. Please ensure the Micro SD Card is UHS-1 class. If used lower class such as Class 2 Micro SD Card is too slow to use and can get the whole system runs in to low performance or sometimes crash. Thanks, pineadmin.... I will look at performance over a long period. while the problem of the correct booting and operation of the system from the SDcard with the eMMC module connected is noticed. when disconnecting the eMMC boot and works fine RE: slarm64 (unofficial slackware) Rock64 RK3328 (aarch64) - KarlF - 07-09-2019 (07-09-2019, 11:41 AM)mara Wrote:Quote:I installed the XFCE version. I'll give it another try with another SD card, and if that doesn't work, I'll have to throw in the towel.
