RE: What will you be using your PINE64 for? - balaji_pitchumani - 02-27-2016 Hi, I am considering using mine as a living room PC as well. My questions - please help answer: 1. considering it has only USB2 ports, how can I connect to external storage for full speed streaming? 2. For streaming itself, should I go with Android & Kodi, or Linux & Plex Server? I am anyways planning to cut open my WD Live Duo as its DLNA and server are pretty useless anymore. Thanks RE: What will you be using your PINE64 for? - B34N - 02-28-2016 I'm an OpenHAB user now on RPI 2 using an aeon z-wave vs stick. Looking to move openHAB to PINE64SS and use the z-wave module for a more compact and powerful system. I will then add mosquito and hopefully a sensor or two off the gpios RE: What will you be using your PINE64 for? - Artyom - 03-15-2016 I will use Pine64 for drone and other automation projects. Pretty sure you'll be able to watch them off an external hdd. Use one port for a controller and the other for storage. AFAICT, btsync will not operate on the pine64 because btsync is not designed for aarch64 RE: What will you be using your PINE64 for? - coleshores - 03-22-2016 (03-21-2016, 04:04 PM)falk.ben@gmail.com Wrote:(01-30-2016, 07:26 AM)By-Jokese Wrote: VPN server, file system sync service (btsync), cloud print server (cups) and probably a small storage server with samba. You should still be able to run and compile for aarch32 on aarch64 Linux as long as you include the 32bit libraries. 32bit libraries go in like /usr/lib and 64bit libraries go in /usr/lib64 RE: What will you be using your PINE64 for? - falk.ben@gmail.com - 03-22-2016 (03-22-2016, 08:13 AM)coleshores Wrote:(03-21-2016, 04:04 PM)falk.ben@gmail.com Wrote:(01-30-2016, 07:26 AM)By-Jokese Wrote: VPN server, file system sync service (btsync), cloud print server (cups) and probably a small storage server with samba. So, Bittorrent Sync (btsync) is closed source. Are you suggesting that one could still run the aarch32 file on the aarch64 system? This would be great news. How does one go about installing the 32 bit libraries? I tried using multilib (on arch) but it fails saying "error: failed retrieving file 'multilib.db' from mirror.archlinuxarm.org : The requested URL returned error: 404" https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Multilib A bit more reading into this and it looks like it might be possible to use chroot to create a 32 bit system inside our 64 bit system. I haven't tried this yet, since it's a bit more involved. RE: What will you be using your PINE64 for? - rgsvd - 04-28-2016 I'm going to try to use it to make a VR head-mounted display. |
