RE: Armbian for the Pinebook Pro [WIP] - nightranger73 - 01-04-2021 I'm having problems with latest armbian builds. It boots from SD until the desktop manager kicks in then I get a blank screen. Switching to tty I get a lot of complains about panfrost timed out and reset. Do I need bsp uboot and TF-A? RE: Armbian for the Pinebook Pro [WIP] - Idaho - 01-06-2021 Hi guys, I was wondering what is the current state of things with armbian an the pbpro, I was hoping to switch from Manjaro to armbian if there's no hickups, just because of the simplicity of debian and the bigger userbase and amount of available packages... Is it viable as a daily driver OS or should I stay on Manjaro for the moment? RE: Armbian for the Pinebook Pro [WIP] - cefre00 - 03-07-2021 I have installed Armbian 21.02 Focal on my PBP and it works great. Yesterday it went to sleep, even the LED was not on, then I tried to switch it on, since I thought it it switched off, well it was sleeping and all browser (FF) tabs were back. It was a nice surprise. ![]() I use Gnome, I can see some incompatibility over the different settings apps, like Settings and Tweaks, but just be careful. Software app downloaded from the repos does not work, so you should stick with the terminal or Synaptic maybe. Battery % is there, working. I did not check what happens when I start charging, but otherwise it's there. The most minor thing I found so far is that I can't change the background. Otherwise this is my chosen OS for the PBP so far. ![]() RE: Armbian for the Pinebook Pro [WIP] - moonwalkers - 03-08-2021 (03-07-2021, 05:31 AM)cefre00 Wrote: I have installed Armbian 21.02 Focal on my PBP and it works great. I think it got fixed in the meantime.(03-07-2021, 05:31 AM)cefre00 Wrote: I have installed Armbian 21.02 Focal on my PBP and it works great. It was a nice surprise. Which kernel version? Just to confirm, by sleep we're both talking deep sleep, with all lights out, right? It was a nice surprise. Well, I am not sure about "deep" sleep, but the status LED was dark, I thought the battery died and I pressed the On/Off switch. Suddenly, the LED lighted up in green and my browser and all stuff came back, exactly as I left it. In my understanding it is sleep alright. ![]() Kernel & OS version FYI: :~$ cat /etc/os-release NAME="Ubuntu" VERSION="20.04.2 LTS (Focal Fossa)" ID=ubuntu ID_LIKE=debian PRETTY_NAME="Armbian 21.02.2 Focal" VERSION_ID="20.04" HOME_URL="https://www.ubuntu.com/" SUPPORT_URL="https://help.ubuntu.com/" BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/" PRIVACY_POLICY_URL="https://www.ubuntu.com/legal/terms-and-policies/privacy-policy" VERSION_CODENAME=focal UBUNTU_CODENAME=focal :~$ uname -r 5.10.16-rockchip64 RE: Armbian for the Pinebook Pro [WIP] - wdt - 03-10-2021 There is quite a difference between s2 sleep and s3 (suspend) sleep s2 is good for about 1 day, s3 is good for about 10 days Put it to sleep overnight, how much is the battery down? If it is 30%, s2,,, if 3%, s3 suspend dmesg |grep s2 OR suspend (after a sleep cycle) RE: Armbian for the Pinebook Pro [WIP] - RyanAZ - 03-12-2021 After installing Armbian 21.2.2 on PBP, I lost the ability to boot from SD. I have issued MrFixIt scripts for uboot in the past, but need to confirm which script version should be used with Armbian? v1.1 through v2.0 are available. I have Armbian configured and it works well, I don't want to soft brick by messing up uboot, but also want to utilize SD boot. I have not posted to Armbian forum as PBP is testing status, not supported yet.
