I ordered the USB eMMC adapter from the store, and my plan is to flash the eMMC manually via USB, I'll let you know if this works.(11-05-2019, 11:16 PM)Skywheel Wrote:(11-05-2019, 06:08 AM)Wizzard Wrote:(11-05-2019, 02:34 AM)Skywheel Wrote: Hi Wizzard, thanks for your how-to. That's how i fixed it. I used an Odroid emmc adapter from Amazon (prime next day is why). Flash the debian image to the emmc and then leave it to first boot for a while. The first boot silently expands the rootfs before the ui is up. RE: How to install Ubuntu to eMMC and to install KDE - Lukep730 - 11-19-2019 hey so I flashed the ubuntu image to an sd card and it booted fine. Then when I used the code to flash to the emmc, I think i messed up. Now it wont boot from sd or emmc. It started booting at first from emmc but it got stuck in a loop. Now it wont boot, screen is black, and the power led is orange. What should I do? RE: How to install Ubuntu to eMMC and to install KDE - Wizzard - 11-19-2019 I am very sorry for that, I must find the thread how to disable eMMC and to boot from SD, I guess it is here somewhere. So with the SD Card in I got an orange LED and black screen, but I just let it sit and finally it booted from the SD-card. Maybe you can give that a try. Best regards! Should I buy the emmc usb adaptor or can I connect to the pbp with a usbc to usb to my windows laptop and flash directly? Sorry if this is a stupid question. Sorry if this is a stupid question. Yes, you should be able to use the rk3399 flash tool and a USB A to USB C cable to flash the emmc. There are even images on the Software Release page for this. You will have to open up the case, because you need to put the PBP into MASKROM mode. I believe this is done using the little Recovery button on the inside (verify this on the PBP wiki page, though.) After placing the PBP into MASKROM mode, you should be able to connect it to your Windows computer, using the USBA-to-USBC cable, and then flash with the RK flash tool. Sorry if this is a stupid question. It should be capable of flashing the Ubuntu image. The Firefly wiki noted that it's primarily an Android tool, but has and can be used to flash Ubuntu. |
