RE: Looking to commission a new Chromium build (COMMUNITY BOUNTY) - brent.thierens - 01-26-2020 Not sure if lxc is the issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/Crostini/comments/9he3zr/pixelbook_lxc_not_found/ Seems like lxc should only be present inside the container, which is far beyond what we can reach at the moment. Quote:vsh terminadoesn't seem to run however, it timeouts RE: Looking to commission a new Chromium build (COMMUNITY BOUNTY) - tophneal - 01-26-2020 Good call. Glad to see that was a false flag. We can move on to the next thing. What about the commands this user ran (https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=8676&pid=55801#pid55801)? Might be the best option for getting output. Got an AtB image on Sd card. Looking into getting the right uboot on it now. I'm going to try exploring another approach, using the source for AtB's builds with a PBP kernel (I'll probably start with the BSP ayufan used) and u-boot. Came across the advice in an issue comment on his github. RE: Looking to commission a new Chromium build (COMMUNITY BOUNTY) - aaspectre - 01-30-2020 been trying to do one better the last couple days, the samsung chromebook plus has the same soc so i've been using chromefy with the ayufan build, to no success (lit black screen boot), it recommends the atb builds with this process as well, so i also tried to simply dd over the relevant partitions from the relevant parts of the ayufan build (or at least, what i can gather) which were the three kern parts and the efi part for safe measure. no success, perhaps the inverse... obviously i'm not even attempting to do this the right way lol RE: Looking to commission a new Chromium build (COMMUNITY BOUNTY) - tophneal - 01-30-2020 (01-30-2020, 08:50 AM)aaspectre Wrote: been trying to do one better the last couple days, the samsung chromebook plus has the same soc so i've been using chromefy with the ayufan build, to no success (lit black screen boot), it recommends the atb builds with this process as well, so i also tried to simply dd over the relevant partitions from the relevant parts of the ayufan build (or at least, what i can gather) which were the three kern parts and the efi part for safe measure. no success, perhaps the inverse... obviously i'm not even attempting to do this the right way lol I'm trying to find it, but I ran across an issue where someone was trying to run an ARM-GENERIC AtB image, and it was advised for them to build the image using the kernel for their device. I'll add the link if/when I find it. Found it: https://github.com/arnoldthebat/chromiumos/issues/156#issuecomment-377862000 They give a quick list of what needs to carry over for the device. Almost forgot to add, to hopefully help put more eyes on this, last weekend I reached out to AtB about how we can get one of their images running on the PBP. No response yet, but hopefully soon, they seem to be pretty good about responding to comments left on their site. RE: Looking to commission a new Chromium build (COMMUNITY BOUNTY) - brent.thierens - 02-02-2020 I'm a bit too busy with getting R79 running, which might solve our problems out of the box. Instead of using the default img the os makes itself, it might be interesting to create the vm img file ourselves? https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/overlays/board-overlays/+/master/project-termina/ On AtB's images, a not working Play Store is a known issue. @tophneal if he responds to your comment, and you can get in touch with him, can you check why this might be? Looking to commission a new Chromium build (COMMUNITY BOUNTY) - tophneal - 02-02-2020 That’s a good idea! I saw that, but I’ve also seen that Chromify work’s really well on his images at restoring/enabling a lot of chrome os features. If I hear back though, I’ll ask him about that! RE: Looking to commission a new Chromium build (COMMUNITY BOUNTY) - brent.thierens - 02-04-2020 ChromiumOS R79 released! https://github.com/brentthierens/chromiumos-build/releases RE: Looking to commission a new Chromium build (COMMUNITY BOUNTY) - tophneal - 02-04-2020 AWESOME! Updating now! RE: Looking to commission a new Chromium build (COMMUNITY BOUNTY) - brent.thierens - 02-04-2020 Once I have a definitive build environment, I'll open a port on my router so you can just update the normal way using the built-in OTA update RE: Looking to commission a new Chromium build (COMMUNITY BOUNTY) - tophneal - 02-04-2020 Sick!
