Finally got round to testing this. The keyboard does not work under Manjaro on my PPPRo either, which suggests a hardware fault with the keyboard.
I bought and fitted a new keyboard circuit board.
The keys still do not work although the PinePhone is charging from the keyboard battery. So I assume that this is not a hardware issue as this was the situation with the previous circuit board installed.
I checked if the driver was installed and there is no sign of kb151 on my mobian install. I appear to be running bookworm.
Has the driver been removed from the kernel? The version on my PinePhone according to Synaptic up to date and is 5.15.10+sunxi64-5.
