Did it! ;P RE: Manjaro ARM for Pinebook - tahf - 01-09-2019 I tried Manjaro with LXDE, and noticed that speed graphics is worse than on KDE Neon. Windows move slowly, and a mouse cursor flickers. But 3d (according to glxgears) is better (as I understand there is only software 3d in Neon). Is it possible to improve 2d graphics? And what about suspend. Is work in progress? Upgrade your system $sudo pacman-mirrors -g && sudo pacman -Syyu and/or try other Window Manager. I’m using XFCE4 and goes well for my normal use. For 3D perhaps needs a kernel with sunxi drm drivers. But I think that is a DIY solution... ;( Go to manjaro arm forum and ask for it. I'm having an issue writing the img to an SD card. I downloaded the img.xz and unzipped it no problem. I then have tried using "dd" command in CLI to write the img to the micro SD card. As far as I know, the writing process is happening (takes 2-5mins) and there are no errors that show up after the write is done. (I ran umount command to unmount the card before writing). But then when I view the SD card in Gparted, it shows as "unknown" partition/volume and my pinebook will not boot to it (it still just boots into KDE Neon as usual). Any reason why this might be happening? Am I doing something wrong? It's a brand new 16GB mSD card and it showed up fine in dolphin when first inserted into the pinebook. Thanks in advance for any assistance. **EDIT** I might have figured out what's happening. I was writing to /dev/mmcblk1p1 instead of /dev/mmcblk1 Fingers crossed it works this time... Manjaro 19.3 released for the Pinebook - Luke - 03-20-2019 New 19.3 Manjaro KDE and LXQT images for the Pinebook are now available for download here. The images feature a range or improvements - including general performance. ![]() RE: Manjaro ARM for Pinebook - pineuseran - 03-24-2019 I installed 19.3 manjaro kde in pinebook. but I have a problem, 'hdmi output' only works in unify mode. I want to switch output mode, as in unify mode the screen resolution is not correctly worked. Menu lists show up when press 'command key + p' But the mode is not changed. nothing happened How can I change the mode to external only? RE: Manjaro ARM for Pinebook - soupbowl - 03-24-2019 Is there any measurable performance or support differences between Manjaro KDE and Neon KDE on the Pinebook, or is it just largely base system and visual differences? RE: Manjaro ARM for Pinebook - Luke - 03-24-2019 A new i3 WM image is now available from Manjaro and boy its lightweight and good! In manjaro 19.2 kde, hdmi output works fine but sound not works. When system upgrade, upgrade progresses but error massage continues. In manjaro 19.3 kde, sound works fine but hdmi output only works in unify mode. After system upgrade, wifi network are disabled. In manjaro i3, sound and system upgrade work fine but hdmi output only works in unify mode. I installed it to sd card in pinebook 14. I'm posting in i3. |
