RE: Announcing the Mobian project - dukla2000 - 10-01-2020 Automatic partition resize did not work on an install I just did of 20201001 BTW. I tried manually setting input/output to "phone" profile, still nothing. SMS works fine, so no problem w. network registration. RE: Announcing the Mobian project - vandys - 10-04-2020 1001 as updated to today, seems to be a problem w. MVNO data. I used nmcli to delete the connection I added using the GUI, then added a connection and up'ed it. Then cell data became a route (with poorer metric than Wifi, so that's OK). So... possibly problem with NetworkManager connections as added through GUI, and then a problem that the data connection was not up'ed, thus not used. RE: Announcing the Mobian project - bcnaz - 10-13-2020 Will MMS compatibility be added to Mobian at some point ? I can survive just fine without that function, ... but I do have some unknown sender(s) that send those to my phone, and I must clear those or they eventually clog my modem. Perhaps just a method to block or reject the MMS messages ? Thanks RE: Announcing the Mobian project - vandys - 10-17-2020 Mobile data is OK when I start up, but after resuming from CPU shutdown (CRUST etc.) no mobile data comes back: mobian$ route Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface default _gateway 0.0.0.0 UG 600 0 0 wlan0 192.168.7.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 600 0 0 wlan0 mobian$ mmcli -m 0 error: couldn't find modem mobian$ .do nmcli connection up RedPocket Error: Connection activation failed: No suitable device found for this connection (device usb0 not available because profile is not compatible with device (mismatching interface name)). mobian$ So data part of modem appears to not be brought back? RE: Announcing the Mobian project - wibble - 10-19-2020 See https://gitlab.com/mobian1/issues/-/issues/69 and the upstream modemmanager bug it links to for some details on problems with the modem on resume. Also Megous' work on modem power management etc. and biktorgj's modem firmware work. https://xnux.eu/devices/feature/modem-pp.html https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=11797 RE: Announcing the Mobian project - bcnaz - 10-19-2020 October 19 Nightly Release : Calls "work" if you toggle the 'Default/phone' setting (in sound settings) back and forth before each call... Yeah, not very practical. > I Did the semi-auto software update after the 'notification' popped up, then no call functions worked, for me. Testing on PMOS Convergent phone, with weak T-Mobile cell service. (My Brave Heart phone using AT&T cell service, operates with only 'minor issues', still using Oct 05 nightly.) RE: Announcing the Mobian project - bcnaz - 10-22-2020 Oct 22 nightly release : Phone : PMOS Convergence Edition, Mobian on micro sd card Still need to toggle the 'default and phone' setting for phone calls, but they sound ok when you do get the calls to work. SMS text works, no extra fiddling Data works, surfing is better using my laptop via hot spot than using the onboard browser. I am using my laptop to write this via my PMOS phone. Nice to have the laptop 15.4" screen instead of the little phone screen. RE: Announcing the Mobian project - bcnaz - 11-07-2020 I ordered the newest revision of the mainboard for my old Brave Heart phone, > Looks like that will arrive just in time for the latest "Reference" release of Mobian. ![]() RE: Announcing the Mobian project - deedend - 11-11-2020 I have installed Mobian on the SD card, and it's really good. I was a debian guy, and my dream was a debian based-phone. Not really anymore, but this Mobian really rocks! I think I'm going to put it on the EMMC |
