IF you turn down your screen brightness too far, you lose your screen.
The SD card seems persistent, (?) Re-Flash your SD card and try again,
then be careful not to turn down the brightness too far again
( I think you need the sim card for your modem to function )

I received mine Feb 10th 2020. I also had the problem of RTL8723CS and EG25 failing on the factorytest.
The "fail" scared me a bit so I procrastinated. This thread got me back into it. Writing this to document and as a memo to myself and to start working on this phone.
Update: yup, it was definitely a false alarm, no need to worry about these errors (usually)
