I was able to install Cura in bionic mateĀ (I think that is the ubuntu version I am using) using synaptic, but where the 3d model is supposed to be all I can see is a black screen.
EDIT: The cura widget at the top of the screen only drops down a blank menu as well.

so i confirmed cura is in debian sid, and if you are crafty you should be able to either install directly from sid or build from source like i provided before.
