RE: Pinebook is going the way of Betamax? - leperotero - 11-01-2020 November 1, 2020 Almost a year later since this son was opened and 3 years since I have a 14-inch PineBook. None of the problems reflected here has been solved yet. Selling older hardware than was available should be a plus for better support, and not the other way around. I understand that most of the development is carried out by the community, and we cannot demand more of them than they do, but it is also not tolerable for a company to sell hardware without any support and to make an excuse that the community is not as big as Raspberry Pi. We still don't have a decent sound or hdmi output among other things, so these devices could have been saved and put the equipment at an even lower price. Nor does it serve as an excuse that they are talking about a possible upgrade kit, because the reality is that I have already paid for something that I have barely been able to use in a decent way. For me Pinebook was not the result of planned obsolescence, but of a product that was already sold expired. |
