I am not the most competent person to help determine why this is happening, so I suggest joining the chat and asking. With mainline kernel + stable ayufan stretch, none of the USB port work. On mrfixit's I cant install the mainline kernel because it says the architecture is different. I'm beginning to think the power supply does not provide a stable output of 5V 3A. I ordered a multimeter to run some tests... Let's see then. RE: USB3 enough to power 2,5 external HDD? - va88 - 06-06-2019 Hey there guys, just some feedback. I bought a good power supply and the USB 3.0 HDD is running normally now. I'm actually running a USB 3.0 HDD on the USB 3.0 port and a 2.0 HDD on the 2.0 port, so I can transfer files from one to another, and it's handling it normally. The issue was the power supply. |
