What power supply are you using?

This might be a power supply issue, indeed .

...  I need to make a comment on why Evo Plus.  If the card actually supports Evo  then the card will work better in a classical environment;  and also ( believe it or not ) run faster in general.  To put this more succinctly, the Evo Plus cards are a higher quality card and less likely to be prone to malfeasance ( no promises, just generally true ).

It is also important to get your cards from a reputable supplier;  if you buy one of the cheap cards on-line for that unbelievably low price , well , you're just asking for trouble ( I mean this with no sarcasm and ver genuinely ).

Fire219 makes a good point;  our two biggest problems are PSU, and SD card.  The PSU we recommend ( for various reasons ) is the switching supply on the pine store rated for 5v @3000ma;  3.0A.  DO NOT use a charger, and do not try to use a cheap linear supply or one rated for less than 2500ma.  YMMV,  and I'm not arguing about it.  If you don't want to do either of these recommendations, ok.

I did not mention power supply.

But I do not think there is any problem with this.
Because I use the AC adapter (5v3a) I bought from official as I purchase Rock64.

Should I also doubt about this?

Best regards.

No.   Seriously, just get another good card and retry.

Hi, all

I purchased Evo plus as advised.
This time, I chose from Amazon Amazon, which is sold as Prime.

We have confirmed that there is a seal of domestic agent in the delivered product.

I checked with the f3 tool for the time being, but the writing was 8MB/s, the reading was about 18MB/s.
About writing, it was about 12MB/s with the dd command.

I also checked the image with Xenial-minimal, but after all I freeze it when I used it a little.

Is this because of the microsd card ...
When it goes above this, I have to go to purchase a manned store.

I wanted to suspect Rock 64 itself ...

Best regards.

[Solved?] Is the Rock 64 something strange? - kometchtech - 08-19-2017

Hello, all

There are good reports and bad reports.

A good report means that for the time being, I tried running for about 12 hours, but there was no trouble.
Because, until now, OS image was using ayufan 's thing, of which 0.4.16 and 0.4.17 were tried. (As I confirmed it, 0.5 has been released)
However, this time, I used the one with the image of 0.4.14. And as for the kernel itself it updated to the one of 0.4.16, but even if it is operated to some extent as mentioned above, freeze phenomenon has not occurred so far.
From this, I think that it can be judged that there was no problem with Rock 64 main body, microsd card, and AC adapter.
I am sorry just to doubt it.

The bad report is that after all, the cause of freeze phenomenon when burned at 0.4.16 and 0.4.17 was that no cause could grasp the cause. Because contents indicating such things are not outputted in any logs.

However, since the file and the file system itself were sometimes broken when restarted, I suspect that there was something wrong. However, I will not be able to pursue any further.

I am fortunate if I can help you even a little.

Best regards.

I have also seen strange video lockups with 0.4.{15,16}. What I have experienced was the mate desktop freezing. It was not a USB freeze as the mouse continued to move, but couldn't click on anything or change focus. The drawing to the screen did continue, i.e. I had a desktop monitor displaying several times and it continued to update. Also ssh access to the rock64 remained perfect. Just the unresponsive desktop.

I will try 0.5

Cheers,
Scott
