I am looking to set up my expressvpn on my new pinebook pro running the pre loaded manjaro os. I'd be very interested in how you achieved it, but the link you provided doesn't seem to be working for me. Could you share the process in some other way? Many thanks in advance!

Nevermind, the issue must have been on my end. I tried it on another computer and the link worked. I was able to get the VPN set up. Thanks!

You can configure PIA VPN through System settings GUI > Click connections under Network > Click + (add new connection) > select OPENVPN > in VPN (openvpn) tab enter your gateway i.e.
"us-atlanta.privacy.network" , change connection type to password, select your CA Certificate (browse for location of your ca.rsa.2048 cert. Click on advanced > General tab check box use custom gateway port enter 1198 check box use LZO compression (change to adaptive) > Click security tab change cipher to AES-128-CBC change HMAC Authentication to SHA-1.
Connect to your network then connect to the VPN (picture of a shield) from the toolbar.
