check out 's kernel threads. It took some effort to take the BSP kernel & get it up and running. Check out his repo and try to re-use his kernel sources rather than going with the code from BSP.
BSP 2.0 had really nothing to offer hence why it hasn't been used.

The script error says you lack gcc. Have you installed gcc, g++, or another compiler to make the kernel?
I would like to thank everyone for the help. I spent those days reading and learning how to do this by following the links you gave me and finally got. They were of great help. I have a lot to learn yet, but it's a start.
