Best option is to use the pine64 installer - it will let you download and write your SD cards in one go. But basically, there is no need to 'format' the sd card prior to use - the image (e.g. one of the ones linked in the green box at the top of every forum page) which you download and write to the SD card completely overwrites anything else on the card, so formatting just adds extra wear and tear.

Hi All, I just bought 2, 16 gig SanDisk SSD mini's and neither of them will load any Pine64 distros. I used both the Pine64 installer and Applepi-Baker and they both error'd out.  Can someone tell me if I am using the wrong chips or what I am doing incorrectly.
Always worked for me in the past.  My current chip got corrupted.

I just formatted fat32 and kept going, but I would do some sort of formatting on micro sd. imo.
