Hi,

I release a lot of different stuff and sometimes I struggle with writing a documentation for all the stuff, like:
1. What each variant does contain?
2. How to rescue / recover?
3. How to write eMMC / boot from USB?
4. How to write SPI flash with u-boot?
5. ...

Would anyone be interested in helping and be an active contributor to https://github.com/ayufan-rock64/linux-b...er/recipes section?

I know that a lot of people would value such contribution as it seems that this images are quite widely used Smile

I would be happy to volunteer for it, however I need to order a 2nd ROCK64 because I use my current one for daily dev/work. Once it arrives, i'll be able to test/document all the missing stuff.

Thanks for your hard work!

, thanks on volunteering. Please PM your shipping info (full name, address, phone number and email address) to me and I will ship a free ROCK64 2GB board to you so that you can assist ayufan on test/document.
I can write up a tutorial on how to update the SPI flash to boot form USB and then how to write a OS image to a USB drive/flash to boot from.

Just did it today thanks to ayufan's directions.

That would be really nice, a lot of people have been asking for some guide/how-to on setting this up...
I sent a pull request in linux-build repo, with some initial recipes. I'm working on some others now as well.
Thanks a lot. I did see them, I will review them in upcoming days.
I think ayufan is a little busy right now, I had a look at all of them in the meantime and they look good to me :-)

.ca, do you think we can come up with a tutorial on building a kernel for Rock64 from ayufan's repo, this has come up a lot in the last weeks since people need different configs and options enabled/disabled... not a comprehensive how-to on configuration, just basically how to check-out the repo, make menuconfig and build. As for the installation I have to think about what the safest way to to that would be with recovery options...
Sure I can help with that. I've already compiled my own kernel modules for wifi drivers (rt2800usb for Ralink RT5370, aka Wi-Pi).

For recovery, easiest option I think is to ensure SPI is flashed, and then add multi-boot config options in extlinux.conf.
Any updates?

xalius' quick and dirty approach mentioned here works until an apt-get upgrade, error relates to initramfs.
