GPS using UART communication, such Adafriut's Ultimate GPS HAT can runs on Pine A64 with proper UART driver.

Hello,
why not use a Bluetooth GPS Unit like Polaris 65 Chanel I65E .
Under Remix OS it runs fine with no Problems.
It used one Nokia Akku BL-5c for several hours.
So you don´t Need any IO Pins on the Pine64.

Since most modern GPS receivers just have a UART interface with either NMEA or some binary protocol, a lot of different devices will work. If you need PPS support for time synchronization I saw a thread somewhere here on the forum, can't remember if that works out-of-the-box yet...
