I could use some help.  My Pine stopped seeing the internet.  I need some help figuring out whether it is hardware or software.

I could access the internet good for a long time.  Now it just can't see it.

I am running Android 7.0.

On my Ethernet connection I see no green or yellow LEDs lit.

Any ideas how I can get it working again?
No LEDs means no physical link is established. Did something with the cable(s) change? Can you plug it into another Ethernet port for testing?

Gently reseat the RJ45 plug (at each end of the cable).  There are eight(8) small brush wires inside and sometimes the wires do not drop into their own slot, but instead ride up and never make contact.  Often a cable plug gets 'unplugged' at the router end (confusion or other reasons).  Physically make sure that each end of the cable has a good connection;  lack of LED(s) on either end (for that channel) means the cable is not physically connected.
Now I can't even get it to boot. I have three images on three different SD cards and none will boot. I have Android 7.0, 5.1 and 6.0. I have tried all three and none will boot. I have waited 10 minutes after each repowering.

I have a red power LED. I never see the Ethernet LEDs blink. I have connected a completely different Ethernet cable that works perfectly on a different PC.

Now what?
Join the chat - will be easier to troubleshoot. I suspect its either a power or sd card issue. Have you read the troubleshooting guide in wiki ?
Right after I posted my note I was able to get it to boot using version 7.0. It wouldn't boot using versions 5.1 and 6.0.

I have no Ethernet LEDs. I have connected a completely different Ethernet cable that works perfectly on a different PC and it made no difference. I am back to the first Ethernet cable now.

Now what? How do I get internet access working again?

Do you have a laptop or something you can plug into the cable to make sure the cable and port are good? Eliminate the easy stuff first.
This was solved in the IRC chat.

Thanks <>.

That's great. Could you give a quick summary explanation of the solution, for the benefit of other users who may experience the same issue?
It looks like my phy is fried.

I haven't settled on the solution yet. I need to resolve some other operating system related issues first. I may end up getting another Pine, wireless, the dongle or doing nothing.
