Hi folks,
Has anyone set up a printer in Postmarket os Plasma? I installed printers config and cups and I can't seem to get Pinephone to see the printer.
I tried it on pm os with phosh, but no printers are shown. I think it might be connected with the firewall settings. The cups interface has a site with the necessary ports. I will try this this weekend.

Update:
There was some work on phosh see https://gitlab.com/postmarketOS/pmaports...uests/2799
Firewall might be one reason. There is a new open issue here. I have to find out how I can add the necessary ports to postmarket os firewall.

Sorry, nothing for plasma :-(

No problem buddy ... On Arch Phosh I have my HP3830 directly connected via USB and this is the type of connect I'm looking for on Postmarket Plasma but I don't really see much at all in any forum. It seems to me that Postmarket and Plasma as well want to connect via internet which I won't even consider so I might be stuck there.
On postmarketOS with Phosh I added my network printer like this:

- install cups (apk add cups cups-libs cups-pdf cups-client cups-filters hplip)
- add user to lpadmin group
- enter CUPS in Browser (http://localhost:631) and select "Administration" -> "Add printer"
- provide information for "Internet Printing" (ipp) like printer IP make, model, etc
- add printer

The printer is then available in this CUPS menu as well as in system settings -> printer.
It's a HP printer, therefore, with hplip, this might have been easier for me than other constellations are...
I don't know if this is helpful or works with non network printers as well. Please let me know, if it does
