Hello all,

I wanted to reach out and see if there is a known solution to my issue.  I have the Pinephone Beta edition, purchased during the summer of 2020.  Since near the beginning, at random intervals, the screen would severely flicker whenever the backlight is >30% or so.  This happens at random intervals regardless of battery or charging status.  I have also noticed occasional ghosting on the display that persists after reboot.  I've reseated the display connector to no avail.

My distro is stock Postmarket, although I suspect this to be a hardware problem (perhaps with the display controller?)

Has anyone else experienced or resolved this issue?
I have seen screen flicker with Manjaro, openSUSE and SFOS.
I see it often, on both my original and the Pro, running all different OSs at different times. I've never been able to correlate it with screen brightness or phase of the moon or anything like that, it just happens, later it won't be happening.
See here for some possible explanations. Unfortunately there seems to be no easy fix in sight.
Mind that one of the common causes for screen flickering is also if the phone wasn't shut down after the previous boot (e.g. it was forced off). The solution for that specific kind of flickering is to shut down the phone properly once (using the shutdown menu or using "poweroff") and then to boot it again.
Does the phone stop flickering when it's plugged in and charging?
