Full Version: Vivaldi Browser doesn't start keyboard for text entry

Installed vivaldi browser (that I like alot) through Discover onto pinephone.  Vivaldi starts fine but does not start keyboard to enter text upon selection of a text box.
Did several reboots with no change.

Vivaldi works well on my android samsung galaxy phone.  I also use vivaldi as default browser on my linux pc.

Anyone seen same thing? Anyone found a solution?

I will post this on vivaldi forum also.

I have seen this under mobian where the work around is to place the cursor in the text field and hit the keyboard icon at the bottom right of the screen. This brings up the on screen keyboard. I now use my PinePhone with the keyboard which makes it easier.

Occasionally Vivaldi starts up in a way that it is not possible to type anything into the address bar. In these situations I just restart Vivaldi and it works fine again.

The fact that you can scale the Vivaldi UI is very useful on "non-standard" screen usage. Such as the PinePhone or on a media PC where you sit a couple of metres from the screen. That Vivaldi will not implement the FLoC code makes it interesting for me as well.
