I just downloaded this image as I have 32GB SD card. I burned it on my Mac using the following

Code:
7z x android-ver5.1.1-20160505-pine64-32GB.zip -so | sudo dd of=/dev/rdisk1 bs=1m

Popped SD into Pine64 2GB model. Powered on. Been stuck at the white/blue Pine64 logo for about 10 minutes. Is this normal?

After about 15-20 minutes (I walked away for some coffee), it was at the android desktop. Seems eth doesn't work because I have a eth cabled plugged in but android says 'Unknown' under IP address. Do I have to set this manually; no DHCP?

Try booting android/ remix without the ethernet cable attached during first boot. plug it in after the boot sequence finished.
Let me know if this sorted out your problem.
If it doesn't click the link in my sig - me or someone else will help you troubleshoot
Ehhh. I just tried the latest RemixOS without eth plugged in. Took even longer than Android to boot up and feels kinda sluggish in the UI. Android felt sluggish too so maybe I'm expecting too much.
Shouldnt be sluggish. Im not much of a droid guy, but I gave it a spin for good measure. For all intents and purposes it was blazing fast for me. I even played a game on it - Need for speed something something, and ran just fine albeit with poor graphics. And I feat that Remix OS was almost faster. So something may be wrong ? Let me ask the standard questions: what PSU / AWG cable are you using ? What card (precisely) are you using ?
