Applications now fit the screen ...well putty does...so does wireshark...
The command is ran in terminal without sudo too...I did it via ssh and it took

Unrelated yet in the vicinity the solution is not intuitive, where are the docs or the source for such Manjaro mobile configuration settings/issues?
I found changing the UI scale from 2 to1.5 helps a ton

Where do you change the UI scale? How did you find it or is part of overall configuration items?

Using sudo, edit:
/usr/share/phosh/phoc.ini
and change the top value from 2 to 1.5 then run:
sudo systemctl restart phosh
to view the changes. I personally found the scaling to be sufficient at 2.

The scaling help with desktop app. like chromium where the UI is too smooshed and some of the buttons are missing.
