PDF reader for PBP - gimy16 - 12-31-2019

Hi all,

I just received my PBP yesterday, and I'm very excited.

I started to use it and all wroks well and fine, but I have a question; is there any PDF reader? By default I didn't find one in the apps installed in the PBP, is there any way I can install one?

Thanks very much in advance!

Best Regards and Happy New Year!

You can also use the browser, chromium. In the address bar, type:

Quote:file:///home/rock

Then navigate to the document and click on it in the browser. The only downside to using the browser is that it does not keep a history of where you are in the document. Meaning it will not reopen where you were previously, but at the beginning of the document.

Perhaps the Debian repo/software store,  or synaptic pkg. manager,  ether would likely include any needed dependencies.

apt-get install xpdf

It's a little old but it comes with utilities for pdfs like:
pdfdetach(1), pdffonts(1), pdfimages(1), pdfinfo(1), pdftocairo(1), pdftoppm(1), pdftops(1), pdftotext(1) pdfseparate(1), pdfsig(1), pdfunite(1)
