looking for pandoc binary for pinebook pro - codebreaker - 08-24-2020

I installed manjaro on my PBP, and am very happy with it. But I really need pandoc in order to make it my daily driver, and manjaro does not have pandoc in their repos for arm64. So I thought I would ask people running different distros to check and see if pandoc is available from their respective repos and indicate yes or no in a reply? Any help or suggestions are much appreciated, and I would add that pandoc on my pinephone would be awesome too.

Thanks.

According to their site (https://pandoc.org/installing.html#linux) it's unlikely you'll find it. It appears they only offer support for x86 platforms.

This link https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxquestions/comments/eqch57/alternative_to_pandoc_arm/ suggests it is available from the standard repos in the debian distro. I will try that and report back here.

Just stumbled upon this issue: https://github.com/jgm/pandoc/issues/5450 and it looks like some have started provided aarch64 binaries. I was wrong, my bad.

So I created pkgbuild files to package pandoc and pandoc-citeproc for Manjaro (Arch) on the pinebook pro. The repository is here:

Awesome, glad you were able to make it happen! You should submit your pkgbuild to the AUR, too!

Thank you so much, this was a real problem on PBPs ! I second tophneal : that would be even more convenient for everyone if the pkgbuild was on the AUR.
