Ubuntu on pine 64+ - Lou Reed - 05-20-2016

Is Ubuntu available for the pine 64+ the two GB version of Pine 64?

I know that for a while one had to build it.
Also, does wi-fi come standard on the Pine 64+ 2GB version?

I do not see where to buy it separately on the Pine 64 website.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Respectfully,

Lou Reed

There are ubuntu images that work with the 2gb model. See what Leoncito81 posted ^

Also, here is the link to all images (most up-to-date).

In regards to the module, no it doesn't come with the 2gb board. You can get it  here (may be sold out)

Do note that you can now use some 3rd party USB Wifi dongles with longsleeps kernel.

Hope this helps

I am confused about Ubuntu on the Pine 64. There is an Ubuntu version for the 1GB and the smaller memory Pine 64, but not one (or one was just released) for the 2 GB version).

So how come I can't just use the Pine 64 1 GB version of Ubuntu on the 2 GB version. The only difference is the memory size, right?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My Ubuntu Xenial image works for all pine64 models. There are no different versions and never have been also never will be.

You can all Linux (and android) images on the Pine64 with 2gb.
