Which dock for dual HDMI screen - Siltaar - 08-10-2020

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone tried a "convergence extension" with two HDMI ports ?

Looks like it simply has 3 cloned outputs aside from Windows. If you are interested in 3 of the same display outputs it will probably work. I

I'm interested in 3 different images (to recycle old monitors).

The "A, B, C" configuration listed for Windows host in the product description.

If no one tried already I should be able to try something next month (if deliveries are on time).

I would not expect that to work.

Just to correct, it's called "Extended mode" in the description above : with Mobile monitor, 2 HDMI and 1 Display Port ; it promises 4 different images…

But I'm just looking for the dual HDMI.

Edit: Finally, I opted for this model and will have to wait my Pinephone dellivery first :-)

@SwordfishII : What facts motivate your guess ?

The "Windows" solution is likely driver/VM/virtual desktop based.

Pinephone is still fledgling in development, it is unlikely this is implemented, if even possible, when basic functionality is still being worked out.

Never seen a Linux method for doing this. The Pi 4 has dual hdmi out for dual screen.

The pinephone only has displayport via this source.

On a side note here is some stuff that might help you get going on a multi display

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/multihead#Combine_screens_into_virtual_display

This and the next section in particular is how I would approach it, coupled with a script to turn off the phone display on hotplug (leaving the two monitors in a combined virtual display)

Good luck!

This is not possible, PinePhone SoC, A64, only has two display engine.
