Hi guys. Have a Pine A64 LTS (ver 1.2) board that won't turn on.

If I apply 5V to the barrel jack - it takes nothing at all as if contact is broken somewhere though I have 5V on both GPIO rows and quite a few components around the pcb.

Tried replacing AXP803 and even the CPU (I solder well) with known good ones from other Pine64 LTS - nothing changed.

If I apply 3V3 to GPIO 3V3 pin - power LED lighs up and board takes around 180 mA.

No shorts were detected on the board anywhere and seemingly no components are missing.

It looks like there is a fuse on a 5V rail that is blown, but I can't figure it out, so any ideas are greatly appreciated ?

My WiFi/Bluetooth daughter board just arrived today for my PINE A64-LTS V2 that I've been integrating into a project. I've been using the SBC with a wired Ethernet connection for weeks (although that had its own challenges, I eventually had to limit it to 10/100) and finally now I'm trying to get wireless going. Unfortunately, I cannot get it to work after several hours of troubleshooting and I'm hoping someone out there has some ideas.

First, the basics... Issuing uname -a produces this:

Code:

Linux pine64so 5.15.80-sunxi64 #22.11.1 SMP Wed Nov 30 11:23:00 UTC 2022 aarch64 aarch64 aarch64 GNU/Linux

This is the only distro image that I was able to find that works on this specific hardware. I guess the V2 board is based off of the SOPINE modules. The one I downloaded is "Armbian_22.11.1_Pine64so_jammy_current_5.15.80.img.xz" image up on https://armbian.hosthatch.com/archive/pine64so/archive/

ifconfig just shows eth0 and lo.
iwconfig shows this:

Code:

lo        no wireless extensions.
Retry short limit:7   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
Power Management:off

Snippit from /etc/network/interfaces:

Code:

# Interface wlan0
auto wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
iface default inet dhcp

Contents of wpa_supplicant.conf, although I originally started out with a more complex version, but I whittled it down to just this, as this bare minimum should still work I think. (Please correct me on this.)

Code:

network={
    ssid="My home network SSID"
    psk="XXXXXXXXXXX"
}

If I issue the ifup wlan0 command it shows me that the daemon doesn't start:

Code:

wpa_supplicant: /sbin/wpa_supplicant daemon failed to start
run-parts: /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/wpasupplicant exited with return code 1
ifup: failed to bring up wlan0

I'm also using a GUI desktop environment and WiFi doesn't show up in Network Manager because of my manual definition in the interfaces file.

If I remove the wlan0 definition from interfaces, then WiFi does show up in the Network Manager, however even though it lets me turn off and on the WiFi connection itself, it doesn't enumerate any wireless networks. The list is just blank.

I've tried both my 5G network and my 2.44Ghz network; neither work when specifying them manually in the wpa_supplicant.conf file.

So it seems to me that the wpa_supplicant daemon failing to start must be the direction I need to be troubleshooting, but at this point I'm out of ideas on how to go further.

Can anyone help?

Hi All,

Apologies for the simple questions, but I want to confirm a few things before we design this module into our system.

1. We are effectively using no analog signals (i.e, HDMI, Headphones, Microphone) in this design. On the baseboard we are designing I am planning to leave these pins floating. Is that okay to do?

2. I am powering the device through a DC wall wart. There is no battery in the design. For the pins that connect to the battery port of the PMIC, can I leave these open?

3. Should I power the COM from the DCIN ports, USBVBUS ports, or both? I noticed on the baseboard you design that these signals have a population option to be connected together.

4.How should the PWR_ON signal for the PMIC be used? Should it be pulled up or down to turn the device on? Or is it only edge triggered?

I am working on a new baseboard for the SOPINE. I want to use the original source file as a sanity-check, especially as I intend to support the Pine64 EMMC module on our board. I downloaded the .tar archive file that is posted at the Wiki page. This archive contains one .brd file. This file seems encrypted with SafeNET.

I have tried to import this file using recent versions of Altium, OrCAD, Cadence, and Eagle. All of these say that the .brd file is corrupt in one way or another.

I need a file that imports to Altium. Altium requires an ASCII file, so the extension should be .alg I think. If we can only get a binary file (.brd), then please post one that works or tell me what I'm doing wrong.
it gets a weak signal and randomly drops the connection, im unsure if its a software or hardware issue, i have swapped out both the antenna and the module with a spare and seem to be having the same issue, when it sometimes connects it says there is no internet but sometimes it still works anyway, has any 1 else had similar issues and know of a solution?
could the pine board or a tablet speaker cause interference with the signal, or does is sound like its a hardware issue?

My LTS boots fine (eMMC) with Armbian Buster and an HDMI monitor connected. I'm powering via the supplied 5V/3A barrel connector ps. However with the LCD DSI cable attached, the LTS will not boot - the green power light comes on, dims slightly, then goes out after a couple of seconds.
It seems I'm not the only one with this issue:
Does this seem like a hardware issue? On that discussion, someone mentioned a similar issue until they used a swapped out the A64 board.
