Hello all, just wondering if there is already a way to get the full blog content in the rss feed? If not, is this something you'd be willing to provide instead of just summaries? It's much nice to review news I care about in my rss reader instead of having to go to everyone's website directly.

Hey y'all, just wanted to check in since there seems to have not been any community updates since mid last year, and PineTalk is dead, there really doesn't seem to be any way for people in the community to keep up with what's happening in the world of Pine64. Is there any other way I can get updates? Any news on if/when blog posts or some sort of community updates will resume?

Hi all.

I want to invite to an unofficial Pine64 meeting in London.
Saturday 11th Feb in central London
(I will post a location shortly but wanted to get this out first, suggestions welcome)

(If you could use this site to confirm attendance that would be great to get some feedback, but it's not mandatory of course)

This is not organised by the Pine64 team.

PINE64 meetup in Germany in 2022?

Hey guys, FOSDEM recently announced that next year's event will be virtual. It has now been two years since we're met with the community, and we're aching to see you guys in person again. So, we're thinking about arranging our own event in Germany sometime in May-July 2022.
What do you think? would you make the journey and participate in-person?

I know that many of you in the US, Asia and Oceania will still be unable to make it, so we'll make sure to have a portion of the meetup online, so everyone interest can participate.

I'd appreciate if you answer the poll, so I get a better idea whether arranging this event makes sense.

Face to Face community meeting possible ?

What is the feeling in the community. After vaccination seems to have reduced the impact of Covid a lot would you see it as a possibility to organise a face to face meeting again ?

I would suggest to do this outside and under a roof.

We are an open source informatic school in Limbe Cameroon and Africa need informatic and laptop. But we don't want only to buy but we want to mount an African laptop we work already with raspberry and pine64 machine. So we will try to develop an African machine it means it must be cheap and as technology is changing it should be a machine were we can change the different parts easily. So with pine64 we can already buy all the parts but we need your help to assemble it correctly. Hoping to read you very soon.

Last week I asked to do a bit of cleaning on the forum. Threads that haven't seen activity prior to January 2021 have been locked to prevent "necro-posting". Content of the threads is still available, of course.

Stickied threads have also been reviewed to make sure they're still relevant.

Matrix as bridge hub for chats

Hey! With the current way the chats are bridged across different platforms, I find it difficult to visually distinguish messages from people on other platforms, because they all come from Pine64 Protocol Bot, with the same username and avatar (though the reference to C3PO is amusing <3).

I'm far not an expert in the topic, but as I know Matrix bridges can provide much better integration, passing actual usernames and avatars accross the bridge. There are bridges for many platforms, including discord, telegram and IRC: https://matrix.org/bridges. Most of them can be self-hosted or use third-party hosting, such as https://t2bot.io/.

So maybe we could try to bridge Pine64 chats around Matrix? We could try it first with just one chat channel, maybe #offtopic, or create a test one, and see how it goes?

I'm almost sure someone brought it up before and won't be surprised if there are good reasons not to do this, and if so I'm sorry for making another thread, but I searched the forum for around 10 minutes and couldn't find anything related.
