Now I know in which direction to look for a solution, thanks. It's really interesting to see the pros and cons of each distribution. And the PureOS image for the Pinephone is just great - thank you very much for all the hard work!

Anyone else's device stopped booting after the latest OS update? Any chance it's possible to reflash to emmc without losing data etc?

purism put out a new librem kernel which bricked our pinephones (yay!)

today's release should have the fix.

Right, glad it's not just me! Does that mean once the fix is out it'll be a case of a fresh flash and data loss or is there any way of flashing just the OS parts?

Hey pureOS on pinephone users, on the download site, is there any difference between let's say, 20200710 vs the testing branch downloads?

The latest 07/11 build has the newest kernel. Use it for USB-C fun! (if you have the latest firmware and have done the hardware fix, of course)

Is anybody else having issues installing PureOS on the new Pinephone? About 4 of the 6 Distro's I tested yesterday did not boot, pure among them. They simply turned on the red LED and hung indefinitely.

[EDIT]

WOW. Clover has uploaded a revised image for the new pine-phone and it is GREAT. Leaps and bounds ahead of the others distros in terms of speed.

Question
Hi,

Does anyone have any idea why the PinePhone 64 doesn't boot from the SD after having flashed PureOS? I've followed these steps on Widows 10:

1. Downloaded the latest .img.xz file (pureos-pinephone-20200908) located in the images section from the ironrobin.net website.
2. Extracted the file.
3. Written the file on my microSD card using Win32DiskImager.
4. Ejected the card safely.
5. Inserted it on the correct slot (the top one).

After that it still boots me straight to the postmarketOS beta it came pre-installed with.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Without going to much into it, I'd suggest first using balenaEtcher to flash it. I don't have any issues with it, and it's really easy to use. Hopefully that solves the issue.

Will Balena Etcher flash the newest Sept 08 download from the 'droppy' website ?
I did the download last night and when I just tried to use Etcher to flash it I got an error message,
I am re-downloading it now just in case last nights download was faulty.
Also will this image work on the new 3g ram phone ?

Thanks

Edit :
I just had to extract the downloaded image, then good ole Etcher flashed it just fine.

I am now test driving now,  It does work on the 3g ram Community Edition phone.

Thanks for sharing this with us.
