Mainline kernel repo
#1
Hi,
where can I find the most complete mainline kernel tree (i.e. v5.5.2) git repository for the PinePhone for self-compilation?
linus/master is missing sun50i-a64-pinephone.dts.
BR & thanks.

In the future, you may not need to use this repo once we get everything to upstream. Smile
Find me in the forest, when I'm at my lowest. I don't really think you should continue..

HOLD YOUR BREATH.

I tried kernel 5.5.y and works fine! Why is every rom using 5.4.y kernel?

I think because it is a long-term kernel.

I did already succeed compiling a (rebased) 5.6-rc1 kernel, but do not yet have the setup to test it.

I see.

Do you have some instructions on how you rebased against 5.6?

I built a vanilla 5.6-rc1 kernel, with dts from older version, but no luck, I don't have a serial so I cannot see any output.

Here is a download link for my branch: https://github.com/goldelico/letux-kerne.../pinephone
I have a serial cable but have not yet installed the new kernel image and dtb on some µSD card to give it a try.
