Building/Flashing
#1
When I downloaded the "0.5 image" linked from the wiki, it was just a tarball from the rootfs (including kernel, but no boot script), I tried copying everything to a ext4 partition, but it did not boot that way. Any hints?

Also if someone could point me to build instuctions that would be awesome.

You are probably best trying the IRC channel - neochapay is often around there.

ps - maybe start with a Sailfish install and then "update"? Except tarball looks really old, ideally you want to start with something with a February timestamp.

try https://github.com/neochapay/nemo-device...l/releases - I will update wiki
  • ROCKPro64 v2.1 2GB, 16Gb eMMC for rootfs, SX8200Pro 512GB NVMe for /home, HDMI video & sound, Bluetooth keyboard & mouse. Arch (6.2 kernel, Openbox desktop) for general purpose daily PC.
  • PinePhone Pro Explorer Edition, daily driver, rk2aw & U-boot on SPI, Arch/SXMO & Arch/phosh on eMMC
  • PinePhone BraveHeart now v1.2b 3/32Gb, Tow-boot with Arch/SXMO on eMMC

https://github.com/neochapay/nemo-device...l/releases are source releases

What I was trying was the "image" linked in https://github.com/neochapay/nemo-device.../README.md (which is 0.5 and not 0.6 like the source releaase)

I will try the channel when I have time, thanks for pointing that out.

I still have to learn about the similarities and differences between SailfishOS and nemo, I am new to both. All I know is that SailfishOS is not for me because of the non-free parts.

Flashed sailfish os, just to create proper bootloader / partitions, then replaced contents in both partitions. (kernel on first partition, tarball contents to second partition after rm -rf everything there)

Booted, thanks

Actually the rootfs is fine, until I can get some hints. I know, I'm a noob, but still.
I flashed the card like I would do for SailfishOS. Replaced the the boot partition with the contents of the boot folder and the copied the rest to the data partition and got a boot loop at the end.

Tried to convert the tar.bz2 file to an IMG but BalenaEtcher told me it's not gonna work. Well, if the software tells you it's crap, you gotta believe it, right? Big Grin

I just would like to understand what did I do wrong. Smile Otherwise I will never learn it.
