A (slight) shipping delay - an explenation + details
That was just my recent experience here.
But a moment ago I did read one post of someone stating they 'received an email' then an SMS (?)

With my previous order I received an email from Syabas with track and trace link from DHL.
I don't remember explicitly requesting this and I also think this should be standard procedure.
Later I received a SMS from DHL, announcing the delivery and a link to change the delivery options (I opted to keep it at the depot and pick it up within a week).
And in the Netherlands you get a second SMS from DHL, telling you to pay import duties and tax.
@BronzeBeard, keep in mind this is not order from stock. These are pre-orders, and then when enough pre-orders are entered, (or a time cut-off is reached), then the devices are built & shipped.

The intent is that these devices are as open as possible, (schematics are available for example), and that after purchase hardware mods could be done. (Regular laptops can get hardware mods, but it's much rarer.)

Another example, I hope to see for our PBP are additional PCIe storage options, like a PCIe to dual eMMC adater. It appears eMMCs are lower power than NVMes, so that might be a better way to go for additional builtin storage.

Thanks folks for the additional information about tracking numbers and emails.

I completely understand that. I ordered on the basis that the store page said 'orders received now will make the end of December shipment.' I had no warning about ansi keyboards being delayed as much as they were until I started digging through community stuff some time later.

I am heavily time constrained mid February till June. I won't be able to receive shipments at any personal addresses. (Won't have one in that time). So if the order didn't make January cut, I would have to reroute the laptop to my business address, some 500 miles away. And then drive there to pick it up, as I won't have a way to forward it from that location. Factoring in the cost of gasoline, I would rather cancel the order if that is the case.

Entirely the reason I bought the device. I need a Unix laptop for my work. ARM and form factor are only a bonus.

However, with the above information, If I can't get one by mid 2020 or have to drive 500 miles to pick it up, there is no point in me getting one. I will be getting a 7nm AMD laptop around mid 2020 anyway. So I only really need a PBP for 6 months and possibly future ARM compiling. The later of which could really be done on any sbc.

Anyway, my question regarding notification was answered. I'll keep waiting as long as possible.

Anticipation levels are high!

Arrived this afternoon on the 10th about 4pm.  The first thing I did was see how it plays a movie from disk.  GREAT!  Nothing more to report yet.
Hi! I ordered an ANSI Pine Book Pro on Nov 15th from Vietnam, but I haven't seen any email or SMS regarding shipment yet. It said on the confirmation email that mine will be shipped by FedEx; is that unusual given how I consistently read DHL here on the forum? My order number is Order #116132.

Is the only form of tracking notification SMS?

I rarely have phone service where I live. I do hope they send an email as well.

So I went to the DHL website for the first time,

you can request email notification if you want that.

I received my PBP yesterday - Jan 10th.

I placed my order on Nov 5. I got a text from DHL on Jan 8. and and did get an email from Pine on the 9th. Both had links for DHL tracking.
