As someone new to the Pine world, this is the second time I got all excited just to be let down. First was all the buzz about the PineTab. This time you even had a countdown timer like an ARM64 bomb was going to go off. Instead it's wait two weeks for a coupon then wait two months for the laptop.

I believe the best word to describe my experience thus far it anticlimactic.

Have you ever been a crowdfunding backer or beta tester for a product in the past?

I feel like their transparency is better than a majority of other attempts by Kickstarter/Indiegogo campaigns. They're fairly responsive to questions on the forum (for now). But that's just my view into the situation.

But... If you ever expect someone who is not a major brand company to announce and release in under a 90-day window then I would suggest you not follow beta/crowdfunding campaigns. Anticlimactic is the rule general process.

@InsideJob This team spends a significant amount of time answering all of these repeated questions regarding sources, timeline, orders when all of this information gets updated to the initial posts. All the answers can be found by a simple search. For this type of project (I agree @Zaf9670 similar to crowd funded beta programs) or most public tested beta projects. It could be far worse.

I commend the team for doing a solid job of communicating, we do not know the half of what sourcing, manufacturing challenges they are facing, or what show stopping bugs have come up that a board spin, or rework is demanding.

I'm in the batch of the first 100. Once my unit arrives, what's the best way to submit feedback? I may do a to YouTube video or write up or something.

I didn't receive a coupon, I did try a second time and it said my request already existed. Should I have had one, or are people waiting?
Thanks

The second batch of coupons (#200-1100) have not been sent out yet. It will be a few more weeks.

It's not because we don't like you or that you were too late -- No one has gotten one yet! However, as of right now, everyone who has registered into the system will get one! As of about midnight UTC on the 26th, the first batch of coupons did go out!

The sales team is in UTC+8 -- When preorders opened, it was 8pm their time, and as of my typing this (10 hours later), it is 5am! When they get back to work, that is when you might be able to start expecting coupons.

As for the distribution of coupons, I'll lay it out for you:

First early batch is 100 units. About 10 of those are going to developers. That means about 90 will be available for pre-orders. Coupons will be sent to the first 90 users to registered into the system, starting tonight (in Europe and US time zones) and over the next 72 hours or so. Those units will ship in about 4 weeks from now.

The second batch is much larger -- 1000 units, all dedicated to preorders. These coupons will start being sent out in a couple weeks and stretch out to about 6-7 weeks from now. Units ship about 8-10 weeks from now.

I hope this clears things up.

The August update says "we’ll be opening pre-orders to everyone outside of the forum on August 25th".  The penultimate forum post from today says the second batch of coupons goes out in a few more weeks, implying that sales go public before the second batch of coupons go out. So I'm confused. How soon should the people who got an email that said "You have successfully reserved a spot in the priority preorder system" start worrying that they haven't gotten a coupon?  I have been watching my email and spam, etc. like a ravenous hawk, but stuff happens, so it can't hurt to ask, right? Thank you for the advance opportunity and please forgive my eager anticipation.

As it stands, everyone who has entered the forum preorder system (but has no coupon yet) is in the second batch. Even now, that second batch has not been filled.

No solid times have been given for when the coupons are coming, because we don't know exactly when the second batch can be produced. There's a lot that can go wrong on that end. Sorry to say, all I can say is what was already said -- coupons in a few weeks. But you will get one, whenever they are sent.
