Getting 12v from the board

Hello,

(1) Beside splicing the SATA power cable (which comes with the SATA card) is there another place on the board where one can pick up the 12v line (for the 80mm fan I'm adding to the Pine64 NAS case)

(2) If I were to use 4 drives (2 x 3.5" and 2 x SSD) in the Pine64 NAS case, with a Marvell 88SE9230 4-PORT, is using a PSU 12v 8A OK to power the board OK? Otherwise what is the Amp limit?

1) The 4 pin XH type connector behind the DC jack is the place that you can pick up 12V power. Depending on the power supply that you are using, please remember reserved 12V 2A for ROCKPro64 SBC.

2) The NAS case designs for 2 driver only. Use 12V 8A power the board is not a good idea due to the power DC jack not design to handles such high current. No advise to squeeze 4 drives into the NAS case due to some drive generates a lot of heat.

(1) OK, so that's the same plug for the disks so I'll adapt the SATA power cable. I have a 12v 5A and the fan pumps 0.06A so that should be OK I think.
